FAQ

About the system

How is Pannel-Heat different from underfloor heating or an air conditioner?

Pannel-Heat heats by natural convection: cool air near the floor touches the warm panel, warms up and rises, so heat spreads evenly through the room — with no airflow and no drying. Unlike underfloor heating, there is no need to lift the floor and you feel the heat within minutes. Unlike an air conditioner, there is no draft, no noise and no dust blown around.

Where exactly is it installed?

In place of the standard skirting boards along the walls, about 12 cm high. It takes no wall space and does not stick out into the room — from the outside it looks like a regular decorative skirting board.

Is the heat even throughout the house?

Yes. Because heat comes from the whole perimeter of the room rather than one point, there are no hot spots or cold corners. The temperature stays balanced between floor, walls and ceiling.

Is it healthy heat?

It does not dry the air, does not blow dust or allergens around, and does not overheat your feet. An official radiation test was carried out on the system and the results are normal — the report is published on the site.

Can I install it myself?

The system was designed for simple installation, and many customers install it themselves with our full guide. The electrical points are prepared by an electrician. You can also have it installed by installers who work with us.

Is it energy efficient?

Heat goes straight into the room — it does not pass through flooring and insulation first and does not escape straight to the ceiling. Each room is also controlled separately, so you heat only what you need, when you need it.

How long until I feel the heat?

A few minutes. That is one of the big differences from underfloor heating, which warms up through the floor and has to be switched on hours in advance.

Can I start with one room?

Yes. The system is modular: it is installed room by room, with separate control for each room. Start with one room and expand later.

Where is the system made?

Pannel-Heat is developed in Israel by a company based in Herzliya. It is approved by the Standards Institution of Israel and built for the Israeli 230V grid.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, a manufacturer's warranty on the heating elements. Details are in the warranty policy.

FAQ

Price and costs

Do the calculator prices include VAT?

No. All calculator prices are before VAT, and the total including VAT is shown next to them.

What does the calculator include?

The heating elements for the power your rooms need, plus the estimated installation cost. Thermostats are chosen separately (the price list is on the page), as is the decorative extension panel for wall sections that need no heating.

How is the required power calculated?

From the climate zone (region and the town's elevation above sea level), the ceiling height and the area of each room. That gives the watts per square meter, and from there the power for each room.

Is the calculator price a final quote?

It is an estimate. We give a formal quote after seeing a floor plan or room measurements — usually the same day.

What will the electricity actually cost?

It depends on the size of the home, its insulation and how you use it. The advantage of Pannel-Heat is control: each room runs separately, so you do not heat empty rooms, and the heat is felt quickly — no need to switch on hours in advance.

FAQ

Installation

What needs to be prepared before installation?

The existing skirting boards are removed and electrical points are prepared according to the plan (usually by an electrician). We provide the plan and the locations of the points in advance.

How long does installation take?

One to two days in an average home, with no renovation and no need to move out. The base is fixed to the wall, the heating elements are connected and the decorative panel is fitted.

Do I need to lift the floor?

No. That is the whole idea: the system is mounted on the wall, in place of the regular skirting board, and the floor stays as it is.

Is it suitable for a house under construction?

Yes, and that is the easiest time: plan the electrical points in advance with your electrician — no special floor layers are needed as with underfloor heating.

What about wall sections behind cabinets or in the kitchen?

No heating is installed there. Where you want a continuous look, a matching polymer extension panel without a heating element is installed.

FAQ

Safety & standards

Is the system approved?

Yes. It passed the Standards Institution of Israel tests (SI 900-2): electrical safety, heating, leakage current, moisture resistance, earthing and insulation. The certificate is published on the site.

Is there any radiation?

An official radiation test was carried out on the system and the results are normal. The full report is published on the site, so you can see the figures yourself.

Does the panel get too hot to touch?

The surface is pleasantly warm, and the system has built-in overheating protection. As with any heater, do not cover it or push furniture tight against it.

Is it suitable for children's rooms and homes with babies?

Yes. There is no flame, no exposed parts and no fan blowing dust. The heat is quiet and even — exactly what suits a child's room.

FAQ

Compared with underfloor heating

Why not just install underfloor heating?

Underfloor heating means lifting the floor, weeks of renovation and often moving out. It warms slowly, and a fault can mean taking up the floor. Pannel-Heat gives a similar feeling — natural convection from below — with no renovation, heat within minutes and maintenance from the wall.

Does it really feel similar?

In both, heat rises from below and spreads through the room by natural convection. The difference: with underfloor heating the floor itself is warm, while with Pannel-Heat the heat comes from the room's perimeter at floor level — so your feet do not overheat.

What about a home that already has new flooring?

That is the obvious case. The floor is not touched at all — only the skirting boards are replaced.

How much will it cost you?

Choose your town, enter the room sizes, and get a full price estimate — before and including VAT — in a minute.
