Pannel-Heat Israel Ltd. wants its website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. The site was rebuilt in November 2026 with accessibility built into its code, rather than an overlay plugin.
Standard
The site was built to Israeli Standard SI 5568 and WCAG 2.1 level AA, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
What we did
- Full keyboard navigation with a clear focus indicator, and a "skip to content" link on every page.
- Proper heading structure, labelled navigation regions and breadcrumbs.
- AA colour contrast for text and buttons; alternative text for informative images.
- Labelled form fields, marked required fields, and error and success messages announced to screen readers.
- A fully keyboard-operable calculator, including choosing a town from the list with the arrow keys.
- An accessibility menu (the button in the corner of the screen): larger text, high contrast, highlighted links, a readable font and stopping animations. Your settings are saved in your browser.
- Responsive layout; text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
- Animations stop for users who enabled "reduce motion"; videos never play automatically.
Known limitations
- Some PDF documents (the standards approval, the radiation report, the user instructions) are scans of external documents and are not fully accessible. Contact us and we will send the information in an accessible format.
- The short YouTube videos are in Hebrew without full captions. We are working on captions.
